Hazelnuts, blanched and roasted

This nut variant first removes the fine brown walnut skin from the fresh hazelnuts from Turkey and Italy. Although it contains aromatic flavorings, it also contains bitter ones. Without this skin, the fine taste of hazelnuts comes to the fore. Last but not least, the lighter colour is a criterion that is particularly appreciated in pastry shops. For this purpose the hazelnuts are blanched, i.e. the brown skin is removed. The hazelnut kernels are roasted in the oven and the brown skin is then mechanically removed. The nutty taste is enhanced by the gentle roasting process. The health-giving ingredients of the hazelnuts are retained. Hazelnuts provide high-quality plant protein. The minerals and vitamins contained in the kernels contribute significantly to a healthy diet. Even a small amount of our organic hazelnuts covers a good portion of the daily ration of nutrients recommended by the German Nutrition Society. The vegetable fats of hazelnuts are also said to have health-promoting properties. Unsaturated fats can have a positive effect on the cardiovascular system and the cholesterol level.

Use

Organic hazelnuts, blanched and roasted, are the ideal snack for in between. Enjoyed pure, salted or pepped up with a seasoning mixture, they should not be missing in any snack mix. Their intense nutty aroma is appreciated in mueslis or breakfast porridge. Roasted hazelnuts go well with savory vegetables and salads. Sweet nut preparations can be quickly prepared with the blanched and roasted organic hazelnuts. They are a visually and tastefully convincing decoration for cakes, tarts and biscuits. In their entire state, blanched and roasted nuts retain their aroma longer. Freshly crushed, they are a spicy ingredient for all kinds of nut preparations such as sweet spreads, nut sauces or unusual pestos. Creamy nut fillings for luggage, chocolate and cakes can also be conjured from this nut variant.
