Peeled organic hemp seeds taste nutty, but are much milder and softer in bite than the unpeeled variety. However, the valuable ingredients can also be found in this variant. Hemp seed is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, about two thirds of the total fat content is accounted for by it. Hemp seeds have a high vitamin A and E content. Vitamin A is decisive for the growth of the cells. It contributes to the preservation and renewal of skin and mucous membranes. Vitamin is considered particularly important for visual function, as it can improve night vision and delay degenerative processes. For vitamin E, the DGE (German Society for Nutrition) recommends a daily dose of 12 to 15 mg for adults. Hemp seeds with 7 g per 100 g seeds already bring half of this. Peeled hemp seeds are increasingly used in whole-food, vegetarian and vegan cuisine. It comes from seeds whose THC value is below 0.2 %. This cultivation of hemp has only been permitted again in Germany since 1996. The authorities have had to bow again to the pressure exerted by consumers and farmers on this matter. Since then, hemp seeds can again be enjoyed as high-quality food, as has been customary for thousands of years.
Our organic hemp seed, peeled, is mild. The slightly nutty taste complements other ingredients without drowning them out. It is softer in bite and easier to use in many dishes. In smoothies, sauces and soups it provides a pleasant consistency and a slightly nutty aroma. In baked goods, peeled organic hemp seeds also taste good to all those who don’t like to bite on peels. For cereals, pithy bars and crispy biscuits, organic hemp seed, peeled, is a valued ingredient that provides plenty of minerals and protein. Peeled hemp seeds fit in Bratlinge and make breading crispy. In vegetable dishes it provides the light nut aroma and a long-lasting feeling of satiety.
