Practical, yellow, good: organic lentils, yellow, split are just as high quality as the round product. However, it is not always possible to keep the yellow core of the lentils intact during peeling and drying. These smaller halves are sieved out and sold as split lentils. Yellow lentils are obtained from green and brown varieties. By removing the peel, they have a shorter cooking time and are better tolerated by sensitive persons. Yellow lentils are heartier than their red peeled relatives. They are similar in their cooking behavior: both varieties are floury, they disintegrate more easily and therefore give dishes the desired creamy consistency. Organic lentils, yellow, split are particularly suitable for further processing. Above all, lentil flour is increasingly in demand. This flour is gluten-free and is therefore better tolerated by celiac patients and people who react to gluten. Pasta made from lentil flour is also trendy and not only popular with vegans and vegetarians. Ribbon noodles, spirals and spaghetti made from lentil flour have a pleasant bite after cooking if cooking time and water temperature are observed. The colour of lentil noodles is also convincing, the beautiful yellow makes the eye eat too.

Use

Organic lentils, yellow, split are ideal wherever the size of the individual lentils is not important because they are crushed for the recipe anyway. The lentil halves are therefore a popular ingredient for spreads, soups or sauces. The porridge and puree made from the yellow lentils can be left chunky or finely overcooked as desired. Together with rice they make wonderful stews. They are suitable as a side dish with meat and fish and serve as a satiating ingredient in vegetable dishes. Snacks made from yellow lentils are also increasingly in demand in the trade. Yellow lentils taste really good as chips, crackers, shaped like peanut biscuits or as small cakes.
